PVC dip moulding is an unbelievably versatile process that has more than 50 years of history. A simple process where in a male shaped mandrel / tool with the inner profile of the component is dipped into specially formulated PVC plastisol that forms a layer on the preheated mandral. Later this, 1-6mm layer is peeled off the mandrel with compressed air after due cooling. Process is good for any hollow shaped PVC component that does not need close tolerances outer side. Rest of the parameters like colour, finish, properties, length and thickness can be played around without any kind of retooling. This explains the versatility of the process. Secondly the tool / die cost is lower by many times where compared to alternative moulding process.
